PostHeaderIcon Can Joe be considered an UNDOCUMENTED plumber?

He does not have a plumber’s license. If he had one would the price of pumbing work go up? Is his employer abusing him and paying him so little that he has a hard time paying his taxes? I see a few parallels here.

Joe the Plumber is actually Joe Wurzelbacher from outside of Toledo, Ohio.

Joe doesn’t have a plumbers license.

“Thomas Joseph, the business manager of Local 50 of the United Association of Plumbers, Steamfitters and Service Mechanics, based in Toledo, said Thursday that Mr. Wurzelbacher had never held a plumber’s license, which is required in Toledo and several surrounding municipalities. He also never completed an apprenticeship and does not belong to the plumber’s union.”

    Joe doesn’t pay taxes.

“According to public records, Mr. Wurzelbacher has been subject to two liens, each over $1,100.”
“One tax lien is still outstanding with the State of Ohio”

    Joe was never undecided.

“Turns out that Joe Wurzelbacher from the Toledo event is a close relative of Robert Wurzelbacher of Milford, Ohio. Who’s Robert Wurzelbacher? Only Charles Keating’s son-in-law and the former senior vice president of American Continental, the parent company of the infamous Lincoln Savings and Loan. The now retired elder Wurzelbacher is also a major contributor to Republican causes giving well over $10,000 in the last few years.”

Joe was never “getting ready to buy a company that makes $250,000 to $280,000 a year”

“Joe works for Newell Plumbing & Heating, which has two full-time employees: himself and the owner, Al New ell.”

“Owner Al Newell has no intention of selling his business. But if the plumbing business remained a two-person company and the net proceeds — after deductions for business expenses — were shared by the two men, both incomes would most likely fall well below the top tax brackets on which Mr. Obama wants to raise rates, as would the company itself.
Both, in fact, would probably be eligible for a tax cut, said Bob Williams, senior research associate at the independent, nonpartisan Tax Policy Center”

Joe’s taxes were never going to be raised by Obama

“According to his Divorce records, Joe’s 2006 income — $40,000, wouldn’t even come closer to qualifying him for the tax hike he’s so worried about.”

Joe is actually breaking the law

“Under Ohio building regulations, he has to maintain his own license to do plumbing work – working under his boss’s one isn’t good enough.”

Joe was planted and coached by the McCain Campaign

Joe, who voted for John McCain in Ohio’s Republican Primary, wanted to come up with a question that Obama couldn’t tap dance around. So he sought out the help of the local McCain campaign office. They devised a made up question that consisted of lies and trap questions which Obama answered directly and honestly. Unfortunately for Joe, it wasn’t his question, so when Obama answered it, he was still confused and thought that Obama “was almost as good as Sammy Davis Jr.”
