Has anyone ever had their Maytag front load washing machine open up and spill all over the floor?
I had this happen to me yesterday and I cannot figure out why it happened? At least I know my sump pump works.
I’m enjoying the comments and stories…I had to unpack some boxes from when we moved in over a year ago. It helped me clean house, as I had to chuck a bunck of stuff I hadn’t used in a while because it got ruined.
I need help and advice on how to handle an leaky pipe from the 2nd floor and the water damage on the 1st floor?
From the first floor, I can see mold growing where there was water damage from the 2nd floor. However, I do not know where the leak is originating whether the sink, toilet, or bath. Upon common sense, I would think that the leak is not coming from the pipe where the water is pressurized to come out of the faucet, etc, but from the pipe that leads from the drain. What would be the first step to rid of this water damage and fix the pipe?
At first, i’m thinking about whether the solution could be solved without a plummer or a person with the skilled trade. It would be costly to try to implement “do it yourself” and end up doing more damage and costing more repair costs. The moldy part obviously needs to be removed so I guess I would start at first floor’s ceiling and then fix the pipe that’s on the second floor? THe architecture of the home is not available and I would risk the chance of any platforms that blocks my way to the pipe…such as insulation. I would imagine going from the 2nd floor down and fixing the from the drain area to be much harder.
Second, I’m thinking about looking up certified people in the phone book or on craig’s list and maybe posting a listing. At first, I would try to get a quote and then see how my insurance company can cover the costs.
I already stopped water usage there, but I really need some help and advice because this is my first time dealing with this situation. Thanks
