If my water heater is in a common area and causes damage to a neighboring unit, am I responsible for damage?

Author: I live in a condo and my water heater is in a closet (along with my neighbor’s water heater) in a common area between the condos. If my water heater leaks and causes damage to my neighbor’s condo, am I liable for damages?

Should IT Professionals be responsible for replacing batteries in motion sensing urinals?
I’ve had an ongoing debate with my company’s IT Manager about this. My argument is that technically the motion sensors have computer chips in them and are computer/electronics related. His argument is just that he refuses to “fix toilets.”

is the tenant or landlord responsible for damages to home fixtures caused by a burglary?
tenant made a police report, but did not tell me of damages for over one month. The toilet & 1 window was broken and a few small holes in bedroom walls. Is it the landlord or the tenant who is responsible for repairs or replacement of property?
