We had a roof installed today and they didn’t reconnect the pipe leading to my roof from the water heater?

Author: I’ve tried calling the roofing company but they are closed. The gas company said they don’t come out for something like that. The water heater is inside my carport, not my home. Is this very dangerous? Should i cut it off?

Anyone who has worked in the field of roof plumbing give me some insight on the work of a roof plumber, what does the role consist of and what work it covers? I live in australia, and im interested in doing a roof plumbing apprenticeship and i just want to know about the job?

rough ins, fit offs, installions and gas work are work for plumbers. Roof plumbing is a trade in australia where they work with sheet metal and do spoutings, downpipes, drains, install roofs and maintence on this field, this is an actual trade, just want to know what more they cover.

Gas smell from furnace vent on the roof. Is this normal?
Everytime my furnace turns on, if i’m outside I can smell a strong odor of gas from the roof. Even if im out at the street curb I can smell it. That doesn’t seem normal because i never smell anyone elses. ALso my gas bill is really high for how cold my house is. I think this might have something to do with it. Is this normal? Or is there something that i can check or fix? Any help will be awesome. Thanks!
