Should a livewell start draining as soon as it loses power?

Author: The livewell is in an older boat that came stock with it and when I flip the switch from on to off it starts draining out of where it comes in. I was wondering if it just always needs to be on or if there is something broken on it. Thanks!
The pump is a mayfair marine 750 gph not sure if that is the problem or if the valve would be in the livewell?

i have dodge caravan and ihave engine check soon and i have the codes but i don’t know what is means the codes are “P 0456 “and “P 1684
My soon to be ex roommate is inviting his friends over to take showers. What can I do?
My roommate and I haven’t been getting along. He is moving out at the end of May. He keeps leaving huge clumps of his long black hair in the shower drain and never cleans it out. Now he’s inviting his indian friends over to take showers here too. And guess what? Triple the mess, triple the hair in the drain. What can I do?
